Events, Projects, and More:

Church Apparel -  If you have not picked up your church shirts yet, they are available in the
church library.

Ice Cream Sunday on July 28 at 10:00a.m.-  The theme for Ice Cream Sunday is “Caring for the Kids in Our Community”. The fun morning is not only a celebration of ice cream but also tries to highlight and bring awareness to those in our community who work every day helping kids. Local first responders and therapy dog teams will be there to visit. There will also be face painting and crafts for the kids.
     Everyone attending is encouraged to bring a new teddy bear with them. The teddy bears will be given to the Blackburn Center and to the first responders to use to comfort kids during traumatic situations.
     Everyone is also invited to the church’s outdoor worship service starting at 9:00a.m. led by Rev. Geoff Rach. There will be outdoor seating available and those attending are also welcome to bring their own picnic blankets or lawn chairs.

Summer Worship -  Our summer worship schedule begins in three weeks on Sunday, May 26. We will have one worship time at 9:00 AM through Sunday, September 1. The Session has approved three outdoor worship dates this summer on the final Sundays of June, July, and August.

The Web Craft Group - Will meet the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 11:00 a.m. in the Adult Lounge starting June 27th.  Bring your current project - knit, crochet, paracord, embroidery, etc. - and enjoy fellowship while  working on it.  Don't know how to do these crafts and would like to learn how?  Elizabeth Kuhns is willing to teach you! Water Fun Day - Wednesday, July 31, from 1-3 p.m. on the LGPC front lawn. For ages 4-12. Please respond with number & age of those attending via email ( or the church office at 412-372-5370.

Idlewild Event - Friday, August 2 nd . Tickets can be purchased for $35 at Triple D auto or S&T bank in conjunction with Penn Twp. Annual picnic. We will plan to gather as a church family for lunch. Please let us know if you’re planning to come so we can share information on gathering for lunch.

CARIBBEAN YOUTH NETWORK - In two weeks on Sunday, August 4 we welcome Dan Weightman from the Caribbean Youth Network who will be preaching and sharing on his ministry in the Bahamas. We will also be reminded of our place in God’s greater Kingdom as we celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.

Cool Whip Containers-  The Presbyterian Women will be collecting Cool Whip containers with lids again. Our supply is very low. Thank you!

Presbyterian Women's Annual School Supplies Collection -  will be held in July and August and donated items will be distributed to Backpacks To Go, Trafford Elementary/ Middle School, and McKee Elementary School in Jeannette. Suggested items are pens, pencils, spiral bound notebooks, tape/glue, 3-ring binders and filler paper, highlighters, and other things needed for the kids to complete their school assignments.   There will be marked baskets at both entrances to the sanctuary.  If you have questions, please call Nancy Rogers at 412-372-3397.


Support Our Troops  As many of you know, member Greg Martz has recently been deployed to Africa for a period of nine months as a Captain in the Army National Guard. We will be shipping a monthly box of cards to support Greg and our troops. We have supplied a box of note cards and color pages for you to use or you may use some of your own. Please drop off your cards in the U. S. Flag bin located in the sanctuary. Please address your envelope to: “Captain Greg Martz” or “A Special Soldier”. Greg will be sure to distribute the “Special Soldier” envelopes to those who need a special note from home. Thank you!  The Martz & Taylor families

Worship Helpers - We need Greeters, Ushers, and Liturgists. It has been a long time since we were able to do this and our list is starting from scratch. Greeters no longer need to take attendance, just say “Good Morning” and hand out bulletins. Please call the office and let us know when you can help. Please write a note on the Fellowship Pad if you are willing to help.

Asst. Treasurer - We are looking for someone to be a back up for some of the duties performed by the Assistant Treasurer. Please let the office know if you are interested.
